What is an annular microreactor?

An annular microreactor is a specialized continuous flow reactor design that uses high-shear mixing in an annular (ring-shaped) flow channel to achieve precise control over chemical reactions and nanoparticle synthesis.

Design Principles: The reactor features a narrow annular gap between concentric cylinders where reagents flow and mix. The geometry creates high shear rates and turbulent flow conditions that ensure rapid, uniform mixing and consistent reaction conditions throughout the reactor volume.

Advantages for Nanomaterial Synthesis:

Applications: Annular microreactor technology is particularly effective for synthesizing nanoparticles with complex morphologies, such as high-aspect-ratio flakes or controlled crystal structures, that are difficult or impossible to produce consistently using batch methods.
